all a main support system does is hold the internals together once the motor splits
+1. doesnt make it any stronger. just keeps everything in a nice little pile in your oil pan when it brakes.

only problem with your logic bud, is the stud girdle strengthens the block where its not the weakest.
all girdles do is keep everything in a nice pile when the stock block splits in two down the middle of the lifter valley.

they are useless on production blocks since other areas of the block will fail before the crank area does.

there is more to the strength of a Dart block than just the 4 bolt mains. the entire block is stronger and beafier

right a stock style D.S.S will only handle 550 like i said. What I am saying is that if you have the same block one with 2 bolt mains and a main support system and the other with 4 bolt mains, the main support system will prove stronger than the same block with a 4 bolt main, if that makes sense.
