Ill make it easier.

83-89 7 tooth gear drive 5spd & auto:
3.73 = 21 tooth

90-98 8 tooth gear drive 5spd & auto:
3.73 = 23 tooth

If you change out the drive gear on your output shaft to a 6 or 7 tooth (assuming it's not already), you can run steeper gears and still have an accurate speedo.

Yea, Im pretty sure the speedo is the same for 3.55's - 4.10's. Im using the 23 tooth for my 3.90's.

23 tooth is as close as you'll get, any more teeth and the gears wont mesh and it'd be chewed up in no time....

My 23 tooth got chewed up.....That's why I was saying you can get better accuracy w/ the 6 or 7 tooth drive gear and then match up the correct speedo-driven gear. My Zspec has the 7 tooth yellow drive gear and I'm using the black (20 or 21 tooth?) driven gear for my 3.55's.....

^I agree with you, but not sure if he is willing to change the drive gear to mesh a 21 tooth black... But yes youare correct, that is the correct way to do it.
