Do you have to balance rear drag tires? I am 99% sure you do but my friend said that you dont have to.

Do you mean slicks or drag radials? Drag radials, I would reccommend. Slicks not neccessary. You're going to be wrinkling the tires and swaying enough at the top end to not notice any out of balances slicks.

i think if you have access to the machines then why not... like i can do it at school, so when i get DRs or w.e. i end up using ill ballance them, just because its free and i can do it myself. but if there saying its not nessacery then i wouldnt worry about it.

RE: Dumb question about drag tires
balancing certain tires... like the bias ply's is kinda useless in a frequently dragged car. I have seen many times, where the tire will slightly spin on the rim... so your balance will be off anyway.

RE: Dumb question about drag tires
don't have to, but if your driving on them i would.
if you have a 12 second or slower car and bolting them on at the track i wouldn't bother.
if your faster, or driving to and from the track, plus on a daily, then yes i would.

RE: Dumb question about drag tires
better get them balanced then, they see quite a bit of street time. not only that i need to find some valve stems. when i got them put on they took out my good valve stems because they didnt have the attachment to fill them. of course they neglect to inform me, and i dont notice until like a month later when i got to let some pressure out [:@]
so ya now my skinnies have nice valve stems, backs have regular ones
