I would keep it. But I'm also lazy and don't want to have to do alot of work when I turn.

I used a Flaming River on my '84. Easy install, about 3-4 hours with the engine in the car.
I bought it from Holcomb Motorsports, Lumberton, NC.
If I remember right it was about $400 complete with shaft and all.....

yeah that's right around the prices i've seen except these kits did not include the whole shaft, only the solid joint to replace the stock rubber rag joint. the OEM rack and pinion with PS replacement is 180$, that's why i'm hesitating to get the flaming river manual kit. ditching the 30lbs and the pulley sounds nice but i think not having PS might be a PITA. i use this car practically everyday during summer and i'm worried i won't enjoy driving it to work and back as much, especially when it's time to park it.

HC---Mine came withe shaft, tie rod ends and all as 1 kit for that much $$$.
A smokin' deal......
No exceptional tools needed anywhere except for short arm allen wrench for the U-joint......
Have jackstands and floorjack ready.........
It's not just about the 34# that came off the front of the car but also the idea that running the steering pump takes HP........
