My car is a little lower on hp and torque. It dynod at 498hp and 488fp of torque. So far, I have no cracks on my car. And my car is a street car with no cage.

The only problem I've had with a notch was I ripped one of the torque boxes out, but that was on my 86 notch. It had some light rust spots on the under side along the frame. The 88 I have now has no rust anywhere.

The torque boxes are where the upper control arms connect to the inner frame of the car. At the connecting point of the bolt, there is a box-type support. I think everyone tha buys a v-8 mustang needs to check that area of the car. ( most 5.0s wont hurt the t-boxes) My car that ripped the right box had a carbed 351w with est. 360hp.

i ran a 14.7 w. a stock 88 gt hatchback... 60ft time was a horrible 2.303, she boged a little, and grinded into 2nd and 3rd(bad syncros), traped 95mph... honestly im dissapointed w. that being my best, cuz i no it can do better.

so you pretty much should be good with the stock setup even if you ahve 300 hp as a daily driver, that you dont LAUNCH on at every light.
