Well day one has come to a close on my h/c/i swap, and holy hell my hands are bashed up [:@] That aside, it has gone extremely smoothly so far. Water pump is coming off next, after that will be the balancer, etc in order to get at the cam. Will post more pics and whatnot tomorrow, but I'm goin to bed.

Nice and unmolested

But that's boring...who needs a radiator anyway

Intake junk coming off

Done for the night

Don't take your water pump off bro! It doesn't need to, the water pump and front cover come off in one piece. One less gasket that has to be used and you'll save some good time.

Right, it's not coming off separate- it's getting removed at the same time as the front cover. I should have been more clear

What are you talking about? The water pump and timing cover are very much 2 seperate pieces. And yes, by the looks of that water pump, I'd replace it since you have it all apart anyway. Why do all that work twice? Water pumps are cheap.

True, but they can be taken off as one piece instead of undoing the pump and then the front cover. I considered the replacement, but the thing's only got 60k on it and works great, so it should be alright [/broke college kid]
