hey, in my nice little quest to get this damn car thru emissions i need to no how to clean the egr valve? hopefully thatll be enough to finally pass

its set at stock right now, and i dont have a light to do it or anything(unfortuanitly, but thatll change after xmas), the only thing that failed was the NOx, and barley, i had 2.6602 and am aloud 2.5000 GPM. i keep hearing its my egr, and rbarn is acutally sending me one to replace mine, but i have the day off and figured it try her one more time, wanna get it done before xmas, gonna put an off road h pipe on it, dont wanna have to wait. so do yall no how to clean the egr?

carb cleaner will do it BUT it can and most likely will destroy the diaphram... what you could to is get some seafoam and disconnect the pipe that leads to you egr from your exhaust and pour some in the side that connects to the egr then run it at 2k and force the egr to open... that should suck some seafoam into the egr and clean it... i'm not sure if it would damage it or not but your getting a new one anyway so doesn't hurt to try...


did you take the egr off and check all the holes to make sure those aren't clogged?

na, its still on the car, was gonna see what advice i got here real quick(and wake up a little more) and then go out and take it off and have a look at it.

im hoping so, gonna go out in a min and have a look see, just gotta get motivated to get up, **** im tired, lol. motor had 75k on it, hope its just gunked up and not ****ed up

realy to only thing to get fuc*ed up in the egr system is the egr. the rest of the sh*t just gets dirty and can be cleaned...
