Haven't checked yet. I know the distributor is shot (waiting on the new one). The part that confuses me are the gauges rwading so freaky. The tach is sitting at 5K while at idle. FOR SALE 1992 347 Stroker Coupe....$5.00[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

I had this happen twice before, I cleaned up the posts and the connections for the battery and tightened them down really good and the problem went away. Also sounds like a loose or a bad ground. Have you tested your battery under load, without load and checked you alternator?

Well, luckily the guy from the auto store where I bought the MSD wires is gonna take them back and give me a refund. Two of the wires melted the boots (straight boots) had melted on the header. I am gonna replace the coil and distributor as I had already planned on doing. Do ya think...when the boot melted the spark from the plug arched onto the header and fried something?
