What is with everyone and having electrical problems recently. First I would test things to see how much power you are losing and when you are losing it. There have been a couple of recent threads where I have gone over how I was able to find my problem (Just recently had similar problem). I would try to answere the following questions:

Is the alt charging the battery (Test voltage before and after start-up)
When the battery is charged and not hooked to anything will it keep voltage
Does the battery lose charge when it is hooked up and not runnning

Might be related...My jeep Cherokee had a similar problem just last week. I would be driving and my volt meeter would be reading ike 8-9 volts. Turned out that my belt was slipping but not squealing. I tightened the belt and the problem dissapered.

Also make sure your engine block is grounded to the body with one of those braided stainless straps.
