it has been proven that installing a cam in a stock motor... (head and intake wise) will actually net in a loss in power

Hey genius boy... did you notice that they dyno tuned it as well.... idiot

THIS JUST IN... INSTALLING A CAM, ADVANCING TIMING, AND TAKING THE AIR FILTER OFF A1993 5.0 VERT AOD....

resulted in a 4.82hp gain, and 11.24tq gain.... average across the entire RPM range.... lets remember, its not PEAK that matters, its average power!

Are you retarded or do you really not know how to read? There was an 18 hp gain and 25 ft. lbs of torque gained off of bumping the timing (mind you they only brought it up to 13 degrees) and removing that nasty *** air filter. They gained 25 ft. lbs. of torque and a measely 1 hp gained with the cam swap,, the car was obviously in dire need of a tune up.

This is a false statement.^^^

I don't beleive that I'm an "idiot" for proving your wrong.

OK, in an attempt to calm things down a little.

He said that it has been proven. Not that it is the case for every single motor ford ever made. I have seen cars that got bogged down by an aftermarket cam. His opinion(Which is generally right) was what the majority of people on the forum probibly agree with. That just getting a cam with a mostly stockcar and a completely stock top end is not the best way to spend you money. It would be better to save it up and do everything at once H/C/I wise.

But I do think he misread, just like I did the first time I read it.
