this is pretty heated indeed hmmm why dont they put 5.0's in mazdas rx7? why is it the ls1 motor? and you guys are right about the light car big engine thing. There was a mid engine car made by detomato or some crap called the pantera. We just had one in the shop its imported, italian supercar im pretty sure with a ford drivetrain (351c)
And why with that combo would you port the 305 heads? Wouldnt it be better to just pick up an aftermarket set and port them?

RE: Chevy Mustang
Ok, I am using the mustang cause, 1) it is a $400 car with a tubular chevy k member already installed, tubularcontrol arms,2) Ihave the motorand tranny already buillt. This car has no motor or tranny in it, I am using what I got. And in regards to to putting it in a 3rd gen, they are heavier than this mustang. My friend brian has a 91 camaro, 350 tune port and runs a 12.2. At 3500 pounds. With all the weight reduction doneto the mustang it ways maybe 1900 pounds. So,like I said its personal preference.

RE: Chevy Mustang
wow did realize they were that much heavier, i did say you should stick it in a 3rd gen i was just saying i would, b/c I like them and its easy work and there is so much room under the hood...but hey you want to stick you engine in a mustang then go for...but I still didnt get a reason to why you posted that in 5.0 tech section

RE: Chevy Mustang
Here's my belief - No Ford engines in Chevrolets and no Chevrolet engines in a Ford...basically I'm not a fan of "Cross-breeding."
Though I do admit that the Chevy small-block has more bang-for-your-buck power than most engines. Ford engines are just as good as Chevy engines, but it takes more money to make them run.

RE: Chevy Mustang
I remember there was a Fox with a 350 in it on PINKS a while back. It ran pretty good.
Its still a HALF BREED
I remember a 57 Chevy Pickup with a Ford 427 motor in it. It had Half Breed painted on the doors.
He used to use it to pull his drag car to the track. HAHA
