Default EEC questions = safe removal of emissions

I have an 88 gt hatch that is going to be a non-street leagal road race car. I want to take all the emissions off the car. I have the x pipewithout cats to fit my existing system, a March pully system to aid in the removal of the A/C and smog pump. Here is the stupid question that I honestly don't want to figure out the hard way; can you remove all the emission systems without messingup the computer? I am positive that thecheck engine light will come on, but will the computer trip into a limp home mode? How do I clear unwanted systems from the computer, so that I can have it just run the engine like it is supposed to? I have been serching the internet, and the forums to see if anyone knows the answer, so that I would not ask a stupid question. Please help.

the only part of the emissions system that will set off the check engine light is the egr valve. you can actually leave this in because it helps prevent detonation when cruzing and is closed during WOT so it wont hurt hp. if you want to get rid of it just to clean up the intake and underhood area, then you will need an egr simulator to trick the computer into thinking that the egr valve is working correctly. this is what you need http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/87-95...spagenameZWDVW

if your truely planning on making it a road racing car you will more than likely end up modding the motor. A dyno tune will allow for best performance and allow the tuner to disable your EGR system... then you dont need that stupid simulator bull****

the simulator works but it gives you error code #33 still. and your info about the detonation and lean is false, i rode around for like 2 weeks with my egr and all that removed and my CEL on and i never had any problems. dont listen to everything you hear. best thing to do is get it tuned n have the tuner disable it like adder said.
