Should I put my motor to sleep?

Should I put my motor to sleep?
My car is wrecked but I am left with a fresh Motor. Looks like I am going to eventually do a 4 banger swap. My plan was to run the motor a half hour once a month prior to whenever I get the funds and setupto do the job. Might not be untill middle of the summer. Is there a better wayto keep my motor happy over a longperiod of time?

go to your local parts store and get a cylinder fogger... it sprays a mist of oil (not really oil... but) into the cylinders to keep them from rusting.
make sure you put fresh oil in it before you store it... and make sure you prime the motor before you re-start it when you install it in the next car.
oh and btw... the $1k that you were asking for that stock motor.... your out of your mind. I just bought a running 302 for $75

Sounds like a good idea. Icheckthat out. A new forged pistion 5.0 goes for like $800 from what I herd on the forums. Those prices I laid out were to show everyone how I came up with my asking price. I know I most likely willnotget $2000 for the car. Nice catch on a $75 302! How many miles on it? Also can you get your hands on another one? I have a guy who wants to buy my car for $1200 I see that as a loss.

its an 89 302 out of a bronco. 170k miles and no smoke or oil leaks... I grabbed it because I have been thinking about doing a small side project... and I need a dummy block for fitting So i had planned on removing all the internals to lighten it up a bit for ease of manuvering
