While my mustang is running there is a clicking coming from the engine. When I rev it up the ticking increases? Any ideas of what to check or what it could be?

 

loose rocker, collapsed lifter, or maybe even a exhaust leak

 

The lifters will make noise also if the car hasn't been started for a while. What type of oil are you using in it? When's the last time that it was ran?

 

Also, if you have got roller rockers they'll make a slight ticking noise.

 

it has ran and nit sat. I am running penzoil with a lucas back.

 

ive got a ticking right now and after much investigation into the rockers i found one with slack in the rocker body itself not that it was loose stud and i replaced and fixed it. if a lifter is collapsed,and i know alot of guys are gonna say im nuts about this, but you can put some transmission fluid in the oil for and run it for a fix until you can replace them

 

I don't know about that Lucas stuff...i personally won't run it...
