speed shifting?

RE: speed shifting?
Power shifting/speed shifting did absolutly nothing for my et. I shift pretty fast as it is, one guy thought I was in a manual valvebody auto[8D]. But power/speed shifting is one sure fire way to fry your tranny . T-5's are weak lil pieces of ****, Ive gone through 18 in my stangs, on almost all of em the cases were ruined also, so no rebuild [:@]. And i it wasnt the case then the output shaft was fried, but at $550 a pop its cheaper to get another trans.

yeah same with me, i dont put to much hell on them because I know they are crap. Everyone says my shifting sounds like on of those audi DSG trannies that shift so fast you can't feel it. I must be drivin it right, my clutch has 130,000 miles on it and it works perfectly, not a single sign of slipping. As for the tranny, just the typical first and second problems, mainly because those are the most used gears, and they take the most hell.

Ialwaysspeed shift thats the only way i drive, my 94 2.5L bmw325is has a rev limiter at 6400 so i just mash and go, too bad the 5.0 is an aode or else i'd mash the *** out of it too.

dads done it in my 94, he knows the T5 i a piece of sh**. That's why we have a new t/tko-600 to go in it after the rebuild. Hes shifted w/out the clutch a few times and it worked fine, but that thing has 130,000 miles on it and the syncro between first and second is screwed up. He used race V8 Supercar Series in Australia and New Zealand, I'm from New Zealand but moved to the U.S. in 01.

RE: speed shifting?
flat shifting good.
granny shifting lame.
learn how to drive a stick. flat shifting isn't too bad for your tranny(but it's not great either!)as long as you don't miss a gear. the 2-3 shift is by far the hardest. i wouldnt recommend it if your clutch isn't in great shape either. an aftermarket shifter w/stops is also a must. practice going through the motions while the car is parked. get your clutch/shifting coordination down b4 trying on the street.

RE: speed shifting?
i guess growing up on a toploader 4 speed behind a 351 cleveland in a 69 stang was all that i needed, the 2-3 shift doesnt bother me to speed shift at all and i have the stock t-5 and shifter.......like someone said earlier ...maybe some just need to practice...or maybe some are just born with the right genes...cause my 15 yo daughter can speed shift with the best of em...that goes for my 18 yo son also.
