Default End of an era?

Was jsut reading page 130 -131 of 5.0 mustang & Super Fords Feb issue...seems they believe the popularity of the fox body is fading...

"We're technically now in an era that can be considered the twilight period/swan song for the fox platform. Enthusiasts' interest in 'Stangs of this vintage is beginning to fade"

A bit harsh I think...wonder when the aftermarket for Fox and 5.0 stuff is going to dry up as more concentration is given to the newer engine and body styles...

don't believe the ear will ever end. they quit making foxes 14 years ago and they are still very popular today. everyone that knows somewhat about cars knows about the fox body mustang. they keep coming out with new stuff for them and such, and i am part of the new generation and most of my friends and stuff love them. i know a lot of people would have them if they could afford the insurance and such for them, and if their parents would allow. i bet the magazine wrote that to stir up a little tempers and such, just like the rest of the media.

Look what happened with '70's muscle cars.
In the early '80's they were just old cars and not really a big thing for the most part. Now those same muscle cars are getting alot of attention and are worth alot of money.
The popularity died down but then shot right back up.

The last FOX was built 14 years ago and that is the very reason they are so popular now.
IMHO, the import thing has sort of pooped out and lotsa those peeps are really going after FOX body cars.
It takes a certain amount of time before any car gets cheap enough for most real car guys to be able to afford and then do some work on.
I was a car guy 40+ years ago when '55-'57 Chev's were the big thing. I had a '55 2dr sedan. Look around out there, there are STILL peeps with '55 Chev's and the aftermarket is coming out with parts for them..........

as the years go by..there will be less and less of em on the roads..rust, wrecks, parting out will take thier toll. The true 5.0's should go up in price as they will begin to get rare.

I dont know if they will ever really be rare. They built a ton of 5.0's. Even the Mustangs that were built in the 60's aren't really what I would consider rare. SN95 5.0 cars are rare. You don't see too many of 'em really. Lots of v-6 cars and 4.6 cars though. I am proably way off base cuz I dont konw what the production numbers were. I am just going off of experience.

It's actually very easy to get a vintage 64-70 Mustang of various engines because Ford made more 65-66 Mustangs than they did for nearly the entire sn95 94-98.

But yea, SN-95 5.0s are very hard to find in any really decent shape, foxbodies aren't easy either, but because there were so many made, your odds are better at finding a good foxbody over finding a SN95.

I hope the Fox era is ending..... less people on the road with the same car as me and maybe it will be a little easier to acomplish a "unique" 5.0 lol

And there will be less retards on the sit asking whats the best cold air intake they can get for their 5.0
