Default heater

what are some common problems that would make the heater stop working? i know the heater core is one. is there like a cut off valve or switch thing? or could it be something else?

Default RE: heater

No heater control valve on the fox. If the engine is running, coolant should be flowing through the core regardless if the t-stat is open or closed. If the hoses are attached and the vents blow no heat - you have a blend door issue or the core is plugged up. Check the temp of the hoses. If the inlet is hot and the outlet is cold - it's plugged. Otherwise if they are both hot - it's the blend door.
