hum, I guess ill give to a shop. Should I order anything else besides rebuild? I was looking at newer 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. They said something about handling torque better. Is this something I should look into or what? its an 89.

My bad, I did not think of bobily injurys by holding it in gear. Dont buy the hardenrd gears, I did and they lasted me a week($350 down the drain) the harder they are the more bridle they are.

ight, now i have another prob. Judging from what he has done to it the car has atleast 300hp. What i have been reading says the t-5 is only good for about 300hp. Now i plan on adding more hp so now what do i have to do to tranny? Could i just get new gears or would i have to get all new stuff aka new tranny? thanks

well hell, if thats the case you could just run the trans it has in it, and try to avoid having to use reverse, and then upgrade to a better trans asap... or just another t5.... there not as weak as you think...

Have your friend take it to an inspection place and see what they say....if it hasn't been inspected, there may be a reason.....
