RE: equal lenth headers
agree with that other "old man" vfast on this one! I'm running equal lenght MAC 1-5/8" shorty headers and they work fine with my basically stock engine and were also real good on the street when I still drove it on the street. a recent 5.0 mag did a dyno test of different types and sizes of headers on a 347 stroker and the long tubes were only 5 HP better than the shorties at 5,500 rpm, so make it easy on yourself and go with the shorties.

RE: equal lenth headers
I was reading a magazine @ the bookstore on this on a 90 5.0. The equal gave more hp from low to mid-range. & the unequal gave more hp than the equals in high rpm's. Long tubes beat both of them in low, mid, & high range. It showed as much as 8hp increase over both the others.

putting equal length long tubes on a stang is not worth 8 hp it is a pain, long tubes are a breeze but long tube equal length are almost impossible, not even if they were free would i install them.

RE: equal lenth headers
Your tellin me i did them and i went threw all hell but i got them on and they feel get and sound great. They seem to work good with my Offroad H and Flowmasters. I had Mac Long Tube so idk if people buy those much. I think they look good and they seemed good but they were like putting regular exasht in a little spot in the engine bay. Man oh man it was not really easy but there done and im happy.
