what does the 60 mean?
what does the 60 mean?
the second number in a tire size, for instance 60... 275/60/15
Is the percentage of the width of the tire whick makes up the sidewall height..
275 * 0.60= sidewall height
165mm sidewall which is about 6.5" (165 x .0393701.... metric to inch conversion)
add your two sidewall heights together (one for above and one for below the rim) 6.5 + 6.5 = 13"
then total sidewall height plus rim size = overall tire diameter 13" + 15"=28" tire....

lol its funny cuz the way u solve it and the way i go about seem alot diff, but do the same thing and get the same correct ans.
my way
stock size is 225/60/15, need to no what profile size for a certain tire size...
225/60=245/X
and i solve it like that, just change the underlined number for w.e. tire size i wanna use
