The sensor out of the 70mm 94/95 5.0 or 3.8 is calibrated for the 19lbs
ALL 94-95 MAF's are 19# calibrated... even the cobra ones
The cobra is a 5.0 right...but yup

No, I was just restating that I said all 94/95 5.0 and 3.8 are 19lbs....hence the cobra is too.

Well most people are stupid about stuff like that...
"But the cobra has 24# injectors... so it must be calibrated to 24#!!!"

no dumb****... the calibration is in the computer

you know what I mean?

I got ya...most poeple don't realize an aftermarket MAF/MAS just tricks the computer to run a different size injector either.

Guys, this subject is prett cludy to most people.
I think Adder and 5.0stanger have a good handle on it

But,
you are still talking about Ford MAF/MAS meters being 'calibrated for an injector size.
This is going to keep confusing anyone else reading this thread.

Ford did not calibrate the MAF/MAS output based on injector size. This was only done by the aftermarket.

A 94-95 MAF/MAS can be used in a A9* Mustang purely by chance. It is pure coincidence that the computers of these 2 Mustangs used the same MAF Transfer Function.
It has nothing to do with the size of the injector.
In fact, I think the 94-95 Cobra used the same 70mm MAF/MAS, but used 24Lb injectors
The 94-95 Cobra MAF/MAS can be used on the A9* Mustang, the same as the 94-95 Mustang (5.0 and 3.8L) MAF/MAS can be used.

Again, I think you 2 already know this.
I just want to clear it up for those following along.

when I was reffering to its 19# "calibration" I was talking about its built in resistance curve. All ford MAF sensors use the same resistances, HOWEVER... some of them have a higher and lower theoretical operating range.
The reason why a ... lets say, Lightning meter, can't just be slapped on a fox, is because the lightning meter's resolution, its resistance range, starts off at a higher point. This is where the in-ECU Maf-transfer function comes into play.

In Tweecer, you can view the graphs that show the MAF slopes, all stock ford MAF's have the same curve

I want to say that I disagree, but I should ask for clarification first...
What do you mean ...

...all stock ford MAF's have the same curve
They operate on the same 0-5v scale, but the Transfers themselves (what mass of air correlates to a specific voltage) will vary a great deal from meter to meter.

It has nothing to do with the injector size.
That was my only point.

Maybe we are just splitting hairs?
Judging by posts you have made before, I am sure you know how this stuff works.

While on this maf subject. I have an 88 5.0 Stang which is still a speed density system. I went to a local salvage yard to get a maf from a donor car. No Mustangs to be found, just t'birds. I got one from a 94 t'bird which had 19 lb. injectors and 70mm maf. Ford part # F4SF-12B579-AA AFH70-02A code 4A21. This donor car had a 4.6 SOHC V-8. I'm wondering if I can use this maf in doing a conversion on my car. I also have a sensor only F07F-12B579-A2B AFH55-05 code OM26. I'm not sure which sensor I can use if any, but maybe someone can answer this question for me.

Thanks in advance.
