Another Head thread
I don't want to keep hijacking threads so I started my own.
The previous owner claims to have rebuilt my stock heads with bigger valves (1.60/1.90). He also claims to have put in 1.6 rollers, & ported and polished the ports to match the lower cobra intake. I have an E cam, full exhaust, CAI and other goodies that I don't want to type up now but can if it will influence your answers to my question:
Although aftermarket aluminum heads will weigh a lot less (exactly how much?) and flow more than my alleged setup, but for the price is it worth it? I plan to go forced induction around this time next year and I really don't want to drop nearly all the $ necessary to blow this thing on a set of heads that will give me negligible benefits over my stock heads. In other words, I am going to get more power with my current setup plus a blower than I would with an awesome set of heads. What would you do?

That's what I say. Thanks for the reply, Adder. Getting replies from dependable sources on this forum can be like pulling teeth. I appreciate your input and kinda hoped you'd throw in your .02.
I find it odd that someone would go to all the trouble and expensive to put in 1.9-1.6 valves..also I highly doubt it has a 1.6 exhaust valve in it maybe 1.54. that's where it's great if the guy had paper work...only way to know is pull a head off...me I'd want to know because I would be skkkeeerrrrddd to make a cam change not knowing
Ha, dingleberry...haven't heard that in a while
If you were going to stay N/A, I would say that swapping to 165's or TW's would probably be worth your time. The research I've done has led me to the conclusion that throuroughly ported E7's are a little better than stock GT40's.
But, if you do indeed have larger valves, I would just keep them and get your blower. One can make good power on a stock (untouched) longblock, much less one w/ ported heads and bigger valves and a E cam.

PTVC? Am I missing something?
I agree that the alleged heads seem a bit fishy, but considering how well put together everything else is, I wouldn't doubt it too much. The guy I bought it from barely did anything to the drivetrain. The guy before him setup the engine and he has a list of all the things he did for his ownbragging rights and you can tell it was filled out as things went along. Who knows. I just know that a turbo or blower is where I want to go and I don't want to get at the internals until I have blown them up with boost
