threw a connecting rod today
as i was starting my 93 5.0 with 130000 on the odometer, it kicked over and started shaking the ENTIRE car and was making a horrible knocking noise. i had it towed to a mustang shop and.... yep, time for a new engine.
what engine do you all recomend, i need the work done in a timely manner and have 4 grand that im able to part with just on the motor. i was thinking GT 40 but im not a fan of the hypereutectic pistions........ any help would be awesome!!
i forgot to say that the car stalls almost imediatly after it kicks over

RE: threw a connecting rod today
when i bought the car about a year ago i noticed after the fact that it was all set up for nitrous! torq boxes are in great shape and the car is immaculate conditions. so i dont know if it was bad luck or if it got rapped. all suspention components are stock ie contorll arms etc.
i know it sucks tho.... the mechanic said he has only seen a very few 5.0 that have ANY internal engine problems

i was thinking it was a valve that was swallowed or someing like that because i was having a lifter knocking.... the guy i take my car to i really trust, he is a small shop and has worked on my car before. when i turned the car off it sounded like there was still somthing rattleing in the engine.... the engine was still spinning but this sound happends right after the key is turned back.
