1969 Dodge Dart GTS
Comments: The 1969 Dart GTS sported some exterior changes and a more powerful optional engine. The exterior sported a new black grille with bright horizontal center bar, and a blacked-out rear body panel. Under the hood, the optional 383 V8 got the full Road Runner/Super Bee treatment and power increased to 330 bhp. Dodge strengthened the suspension when the 383 was ordered, increasing the diameter of the front torsion bars and front sway bars. But the same heavy-duty six-leaf rear springs and E70x14 tires were retained which made good launches tricky. Transmissions were shared as well, either a heavy-duty four speed or high-shift Torque-Flite, both with 3.23:1 gears standard and 3.55:1 or 3.91:1 available with the optional Sure Grip differential. Also new was a rear "bumble bee" stripe with a separate lower section and the GT Sport name written on it. The hardtop cost $3,226 and the convertible was $3,419.
Another specialty Dart was the Dart Swinger 340. Standard equipment included the 340 cid V8 with 275 bhp, four speed manual with Hurst shifter, three-spoke steering wheel with padded hub, Rallye suspension, "Swinger" bumble bee stripes and fat 14 inch wheels and tires. Seven exterior colors and four vinyl colors were available. All-vinyl upholstery (with full carpeting on four speed cars only) was included. The Swinger 340 was only available as a two-door hardtop for $2,836. Two axle ratios (3.55:1 and 3.91:1) were available.
Production:
Swinger 340: 20,000
GTS: 6,702
Engines:
340 V8 275 bhp @ 5000 rpm, 340 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm.
383 V8 300 bhp @ 4400 rpm, 400 lb-ft @ 2400 rpm.
Performance:
440/375: 0-60 in 5.0 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds @ 107 mph.

watch out with the jap comment there... toyota is the #1 car company in the world rite now for a reason... and the new supra has a pretty huge engine in it... actually its all eninge.. so really its a muscle in a since... and yes it will be made in the good old US of A.... Japan is a much more technelogically adavnce society... rice is the car model... its a way of life more so... its a term used to tell some one they have a goddly *** ulgy POS sitting in there drive way... the soon to be new supra has a bigger engine that hte ne of hte late model mustangs... i believe a 6.0 or somewere in there... and it would be just as quick as the new sheleby.... but oh yea... got no forced induction on it... an it dont look bad at all... (opinion obviously)... dont get me wrong... im a mustang kid... since was 5 and saw a green cobra converbtile... forgein aint rice... ive seem more cavalars and neons riced out that most forgien cars to be honest... neway i was just throwing a heads up on the whole jap slang if u all dont believe be about hte supra ill look for liteauutre for u
Edit:... its a 5.0 not a 6.0 engine... so thats all the better... rated at 450hp with the Lexus IS350 and GS350 drive train... word is there pushing it bak tho... they were sayin late 07... now its more of an 08 thing...

that is a big no. someone slap him for bad info! The old muscle cars had trouble turning 14s with the old tech flop big blocks that came in them. now, you put a WORKED (not "stock") 440 in one of those things running under some current technology and 10s is perfectly believable. But lets not throw the word stock out there when talking about these cars. when the HEMI made its debut it pushed 180 hp (like the Celica GTS.....)
