Default Buying my 5.0 back????

Hello all. For those new people on this forum (and I know there are a lot of you!) I sold my 91 GT about a year and a half ago, and I heard that the guy that bought it is going to sell it again. I have a few questions however.

This is what it was equipped with:
Trick Flow Street Heat Intakes
BBK CAI
Vortech 73mm MAF
BBK 70mm Throttle Body
AFR 165cc Aluminum Heads
Scorpion 1.6 Roller Rockers
R302 Block
E303 Cam
New Radiator, high flow oil pump, high flow Bosch water pump, New3 way adjustable timing chain, all new gaskets.
Brand new Spec Stage 2 clutch
4.10 Gears
Weld Racing Wheels
Drag Radials

The car was in perfect shape, having just installed the brand new engine, and just putting in a brand new clutch, I sold it to him for $4500.00

Now he says that the rear end only spins one tire (which I had just had the rear rebuilt so he messed something up) the syncro's in 3rd are going out in the tranny, he has removed the rear seats, the fog lights, and some other things.

How much do you think is the max I should pay him to buy my old car back now that he has beat it up?

Sounds to me like, $1000-$1500 off what you sold it to him for.

That is what I was thinking, I was going to offer him $3500 ... Does that seem reasonable?

If it was me, I would have $2800-$3000 be a starting point. I imgine $3500 will get it though.

Alright I emailed him telling him I would be willing to pay 3500 for it. I will have to wait and see what he says. I am going to be making it into strictly a race car. So I don't really care about the back seats, but the other things are critical!

Messed up rearend, going out tranny, removed fog lights, and no back seat (which means probably messy interior). Plus someone elses abuse over the years. I wouldnt go penny of $3k, even if it was in good shape (but considering the probs already listed of course).

The only thing is if I bought a new car, I would be taking a chance of other problems. With this car I know the electrical is good, the engine has less than 10k on it, the clutch as well, and I have put about 6k into the car. If I bought another 5.0 (it would be a notch) then I would end up paying appx. $2500 and would have to do all the work, and buy all the parts all over again.

I really want a notch, and if I built another engine, it would be a 331 or a 347 stroker which are cheap. Soooooo Those are my two options. 1: Buy my old car for more than I want to spend, then save up and slap on a Supercharger and gut the engine bay and add a set of slicks OR..
2: Buy a Notch and build a knarly 347 stroker NA with 185 heads, custom grind cam, 1.7RR's, longtube's, etc. Of course it would take about a year or so to do.

What do you guys think?
