If its popping through the intake, its running lean. Disconnect your battery for about 15 min and unplug the MAF. Reconnect the battery but leave the MAF disconnected and retest. I know this will work with a stock system if MAF calculation is off. All bets are off given the aftermarket injectors, but this should force you into open loop and fatten up the mixture by default. If it runs better, you know the MAF signal is inaccurate. From there its all sensor, circuits, air filter, unmetered leaks, et cetera.

I would say boost the fuel to 40psi, maybe make sure the mass air plug is in tight and making a good connection, I relly think that is the prob. Mine did that 2 monts ago, driving down the road backfiring, almost dying, I thought it was running out of gas at times. My mass air bracket was not bolted to the fender well(air tube was holding it in) so I pulled it up and bolted it in wiggled the plug and problem solved.
