I am needing to know what wires are what to the gas tank on my 88GT. 2 are black and 2 are colored. I am guessing that the blacks are grounds? and the one colored is for the gas tank level gauge signal, and the other is for the power to the fuel pump? The wire diagrams I have dont show this. Can anyone help?

Don't you you have your fuel level sending unit plugged in still? I am guessing no if your asking it this way.
Let me know what your colors are on the wires and i will look at mine. I have a 92' so i'm not sure if they are the same.
I am pretty sure that i have a diagram so let look for that and i will get back to you.

one set is fuel pump ,one set is gas gauge..best way is to hook a pair of colored,and vlk wires to it and see if sender works on gas or ya fuel pump buzzs..if neither works then ya have one wire from one component and one wire from another,need to make sure there matched.. one blk ,one colored..if the fitting are on it ,then just one fit on one and the other fits on the other lol..
