what about disconnecting one of your injectors and the spark plug for that cylinder.. so it would run on 7 cylinders... less cylenders less emmission.....but im not sure if that would work never tried it...
Thats actually going to make it worse.. dont do that!!!

The lean exhaust signal from the dead cylinder would cause the O2's to see a majorly lean condition. Then the computer would increase the PulseWidth to the other injectors.

Essentially, diconnectingan injector would make things worse.

Again, this is part of my point....
You don't have to bypass or trick the computer to pass the testing.

an excellent book to pick up is
Ford Fuel Injection and Electronic Control written by Charles Probst, SAE
This text describes how the EEC works in laymans terms. It is very well written and worth the money.

jason
it was just a thought... forgot about the o2 sensores

here is a good trick i havent tried it b/c i always pass but my friends tell me to drive up there in third gear or drive to make the rpms higher. this will make your exhaust system hotter if its hotter then it will burn more of the gasses before they exit making you emmisions less. its worth a shot.

remove the speedo gear from the trans. your speedometer wont work, but your odometer wouldn't either. then hook it back up right b4 you take it for the next inspection. as long as the car has 5k or less from the last time they ran your vin, youll get an emmisions exempt sticker and you can run any exhaust you want even an o/r hpipe!!!
Just don't forget to disclose that when ya sell the car. Quote from www.ehow.com "The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that odometer fraud costs buyers about $10 billion every year."

Thanks juice bag!!

Besides, NA your not going to gain **** from an o/r hpipe over a catted h pipe.
