RE: 390 and c6
Well depends, the car wont be able to turn worth **** after you put it in, its a heavy engine but they are able to produce alot of hp, frpp has a 390 crate motor that puts out good numbers for what it has(its capable of alot more IMO)

RE: 390 and c6
well if i get it it would be strictly a race motor...also found a 84 notch for $200...so i thought about getting the notch, gutting it, throwing in the 390 and heading to the track...just didnt know if the motor was worth building or not

RE: 390 and c6
If anything its far from a race motor.... why would you want a heavy *** motor and a heavy *** truck trans for a race car? think about it. thats the last thing I would put in a race car. I rather run a high revving 347 stroker with a C4 than a 390 with a C6. For a steet car, maybe. have fun. Drag car... no. Just my .02

For a nice street car, hell yea that thing would be a beast. And Im not saying it wouldnt perform at the track, by all means it will but if its a strictly dedicated drag car I wouldnt put a 390in it. Just my opinion, Im sure others will argue.

RE: 390 and c6
any1 says a 390 isnt worth never built up 1 or dont know the history of the fe low riser////you can get 500 hp on a 390..and 400 easy with tons of torq,,yes there heavy but any say no,never done up1,or have no clue.. a build up in my book has 402 hp and 460lbs of torq...3400$ in all..very mild port stock heads 9.5 comp ,,,30 over pistons,lt headers a few otherthings..the 428 fe motor was a screamer and dominated alotta racers till the 385 series came out...take a 360 and put 390 crank in and its a 390///
