I'm curious if a 351 windsor long block fits under a fox body hood without scoop and can a stock fuel injection off of a 5.0 be used? Also can the serpentine belt system off of a 5.0 be used on the 351? Just wondering/dreaming.....

I don't think you can get it to clear the stock hood, maybe you could with the correct engine mounts and intake manifold choice. Yes, stock fuel injection can be used but you'll have the lengthen the fuel hose between the two rails. Lastly, I don't think you can use the same belt setup, not 100% sure on that, though, but I doubt it since you have to buy special accessory brackets to do the swap.

i have a 351 sitting in my shed and i was wondering the same thing. it would look sweet in a fox body.

i've seen 351 foxes running with a stock hood

it would be very close, you could always just get like a 1.5 inch cowl that looks stock enough.

The 351w can clear the stock hood with some carful planning and creativity.

The 351w is wider than the 302, so your 302 lower intake will not bolt up to the 351w block.
Just on the market though is an adapter plate that will allow you to bolt your factory 302 upper to a truck 351w lower. the adapter is fairly cheap, but I am not sure how hood clearance will be affected.
I am running the factory hood on my 408w GT.


The serpentine belt system can swap over from the 5.0. All that is needed is a Ford conversion bracket for the PS and AC (or just PS if you don't have AC).

yes u can fit it under stock hood but u got to buy different motor mounts that drop the engine 1.5" and or u can alway buy and cobra intake there sorta enough to fit under the stock hood u might have to bang it out a bit and round the center out of the hood up by the intake but ya it would look like aa sleeper and put a queit but loud exshaut on ti and bam no1 would think u have a 351 under the babe but it also 30 #'s or more to the front but ya u can fit it under the stock hood with modifatication like u could trim ur orginal mounts or buy a tublar k-member it drops it a bit
