After removing the differential cover do most of you use a gasket for re-instal, or just RTV or something similar?

If you dont have a gasket just use RTV. Thats the way they were sealed from the factory. If you have a nice gasket it might not hurt to use it.

ditch the gasket,it looks pretty hanging on the shop wall. black rtv all the way. just make sure everything is clean and roughed up with some 80 grit sandpaper.

I would and did go for the gasket... its hard to get it super clean for the rtv to seal correctly. You can get a reusable rubber gasket or a paper style on for less than $10

I figured I would get mixed opinions. I have not used the gasket in the past and had no leaks, just looking for input.
