go pull an explorer intake out of the junkyard, or order a cobra one for 360 through a vendor. good luck, and yes you do need upper and lower

I would avoid the new cobra intakes... they are cheap chinese crap... you would have to get it honed out for it to perform nicely

Ya i have a lil ? Why do some people call the 93 Cobra intake a gt-40, i know there similar but they are different right? I personally like the looks of the true gt-40

the cobra and gt-40 are essentially the same intake.. you can take a cobra upper and bolt it to a gt-40 lower and vice versa...

however, the gt-40 intake was in fact designed for the lightning and explorers, which is why its not a "cobra" intake

Pro comp makes one that fits the stock lower intake. It's also suppose to drop like 2/10 of a second to your quarter mile time if your engine is all stock. As far as getting a GT40 intake-go to your local junkyard and get one off a 97 explorer v8.
