Default Protower vs. Triax shifters

Hey, the person I talked to about the transmission says that the Steeda Triax isn't a good shifter. Not talking about how it performs, but of the material, he said he had one and it snapped in his hands while he was trying to shift. Have any of you heard of this? Perhaps during power-shifting? Or do you think he just got a defective one?

Well, if anything, he says he has a "protower" on there, I think that's what he called it, is that one good?
