rx-7 motor swap with 5.0
I was wondering if its a good idea to do a swap with a rx-7 from a rotory motor to a 5.0L motor from a mustang. And if it is bbad what are some pros and cons of doing the swap?
I was planning on doing it so yea.

The problem is you'd be taking a sports car built for turns with a unique engine and a 50/50 weight ratio and making it a front heavy drag car. Other than that I don't know, people put 350's in them all the time.

Can be done and has been done, although I don't know any details.
Do some searches here, Stangnet, and the Corral.
You may also need to visit some RX7 sites.
I would stick with the rotary, but that's just me.
With all the tip seal issues the older rotor motors had I can see the desire for the swap.

I would actually recommend an LS1 swap instead of a 5.0. There is much more support for it in the aftermarket, and it keeps the 50/50 weight ratio in check. A good LS1 swap will actually decrease the front end weight of the car by 50lbs
