First step to diagnosing a problem on an EFI Fox Mustang is to pull the codes.
If you don't have a code reader/scanner, check the link in my sig.
Post your codes once you have them.
Adjusting the tps will do very little, unless the output at idle is over 1.2v. The computer doesn't care if the idle tps is set to .89 or .99 or 1.05. They will all accomplish the same thing due to how the computer uses the tps signal.

Why replace a tps if it's not the problem. Throwing parts at cars as hope in fixing them is both a waste of time and money. Propperly diagnose the problem and fix it correctly. Will end up saving time and money in the long run
