Default 3g alternator install problem?!?!

ok well i just got finished installing my 3g alternator. now at idle the headlights are kind of dim but then when i rev it up they get brighter. also at idle the volt guage is in the middle i thought it was gunna be higher with this alternator. what could be wrong?

How did you wire the power wire? Did you attachthe (2) factory 10G wires to the alternator or wire in a separate 4G wire?

i just finished my installation and i have the same problem. i measured the stock alt pulley and the 3g and they're the same.
