Wet sump oil system is what Ford built your car with.
Dry sump system is when you are using a 2 sided oil pump, 1 side for supply pressure other side for scavange (or oil removal0 The dry sump uses a very small oil pan as the oild is kept in an external tank usually about 2-3 gallons, this is where the oil is sent to by the scavange side of the pump so it can be sent to the engine by the pressure side.
The oil pump itself is usually belt driven off the front of the engine.
Best examples I know of would be on NEXTEL Cup engines.
Yep, they are super expensive to put on an engine but also, you could build the car lower.
Any more HP with a dry sump? Dunno, from what I've understood, not really........
