Long Tubes.. and Emissions?

RE: Long Tubes.. and Emissions?
You "might" be able to pass the sniffer test, but you won't pass visual inspection. One of the reasons longtubes are illegal emissions wise is because the 02 sensor gets relocated farther from the head, slowing its response and thus increasing emisssions.

No Sh*T... so I live in ohio... where we ned to pass emissions test (obviously) and I just won an auction for Long Tube headers and catted H-pipe. So if I install them, then my car will no longer pass emissions?
Man that would Really suck!!!!

Dont they add like 8 more horses?
I got them cheaper then any Brand new set of shorty's.
And I am rebuilding the whole car.... and right now I am buying peice by peice. So I imagine it wont be to hard to install.. Seeing everything will be out

Long tubes are gonna give you the best performance. Its a mod that can grow with your vehicle. The sound of long tubes and a good aftermarket exhaust are just about unbeatable. Shorty headers are gonna perform just about as well, while also allowing you to use a catted mid-pipe for those stupid *** emissions tests. Its funny how back in the day they tested nuclear bombs, cleared entire forests, strip mined out the countryside, but now most people cant even turn their cars on without having someone check it to see if its ok for the envirnment first. Buncha BS if you ask me. I love my off-road midpipe .
