How Much HP
If I buy a stock 91 LX/GT with over a 100k on it and stroke it to a 347 how much horsepower will I be making? Or should I buy exhaust, headers, heads, cam. Or should I stroke it first then buy all the other mods? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Ryan

usually, a good breathing engine(heads, intake, manifold and full exhaust) will make 1hp per cubic inch. w/o heads and all that good stuff. just a stroker...........im guessing @ 300-310hp. now, with all the good stuff............easily 350-400. if not more

NOOOOOOO!!!! do not by a 347 and then put all ur stock parts on it. that wood be the biggest mistake ud ever make. i did the same exact thing and i went threw hell trying to make my car run rite. i got the motor in my car and all assembled last winter and i only got it running rite last month and it wasnt worth driving it around so i took it back off insurance so i can put aftermarket heads on it and better intake. putting ur stock heads and intake on a 347 is like running threw a field on a hot day only breathing threw a straw, ull be starving ur motor for air o yah and i did dyno my car with the stroker and all the stock parts on it and the numbers were bouncing all over the place. the highest number i got was 240hp and 350 torque. what u dont realize is that when u get the stroker ur goin to have to spend about a grande juss on other things like fuel pump injectors bigger tb and mass air. if i were u i wood by everything u wood need to build around the block and then when ur all done u can get the 347 and that way u wont have to worry about bying n e thing else but keep in mind that all the parts ur gonna get are gonna be for a 347 not a 302 so do get no #24 injectos get like 30s or 42s and go withe a bigger tb and a bigger mass air. or the other route to do it is build the whole motor first then get it put in ur car and then worry about other things u have to do to fine tune it. o yah ull have to get a new harmonic balncer and flywheel thats balnced for the stroker. its prolly gonna be the 28oz but w/e motor u get it will say..if u have n e other questions let me no i can tell u about n e thing u need to no on this subject

you would probably come out money ahead if you just do an overbore to 306 ci or combine that with a small stoke to 331 ci. then put on some good heads and a cam along with the intake and headers etc and you'll have a plenty fun ride without too much expense.
