Default Carter or Holley?

Im about to buy a new carb for my 85 and i was wondering which would be better a 625 comp series carter or a 650 holley?

I would stick with a holley, they are pretty user friendly and everyone knows something about them. I've really never delt with a carter carb though.

carters and edlebrock carbs are the same carb... if you look on the edlebrock carbs they actually say carter on them.

and inmy opinion if you are serrious about the most power stick with a holley.. if you want a little better driveability with a little more torque down low cause of the spread borethen go with the carter/edlebrock. both are good carbs though... holley has had problems in the past with leaking butterfly shafts and power valves but it seems to be all taken care of now.

That power valve blow out kit work great. I backfired through the intake of my 86 about 20 times and didn't hurt the powervalve.
