im doing a budget build up. i got a block for free and im looking into a set of gt40 heads and im wondering what kind of power gains ill see over stock if i have them ported and polished etc. im just wondering if the worked gt40s will give me a good jump over the stock e7s

20-30hp over stock. depends a lot on the other parts you put in the motor

well, flow ability and velocity are 2 different things. i'd much rather a head with design characteristics and engineering than some guy with a dremel

i wouldnt consider the guys at thumper as 'just some guy with a dremel'.. they are probably one of the best porters out there. that have many MANY people on there that have gained 8 tenths of a sec in the quarter from switching from stock e7 to there ported e7's or gained 2-3tenthswhen switching from trickflows or other heads.
