Default times are in, but...

Allright, finally raced my car, ran 14.3 at 99 mph, motor comletely stock except a b-cam and full offroad exhaust. Had a horrible r/t and even worse 60 ft, so with some practice I hope for better times. But...onto the the issue at hand. When I first start the stang in the morning, it won't run, fires right up, then dies. It runs real rough from idle to like 1,800 so i gotta rev the thing up to around 2,000 and hold it, but after a few minutes it runs fine. It doesn't happen anytime I start it up the rest of the day, just that first time when its good and cold. Its a 92, the computer and the sensors are from ford racing, (was a 4 banger conversion,) its a stick, 15 hg's of vacuum (low?,) b-cam, unequal length shorties, h-pipe, and that's it. Fuel pressure at idle is about 29 psi (also low?...it jumps to near 40 when i get on it.) Like I said, runs fine once warm, and air fuel gauge stays in the stoich zone. I've heard many possible culprits...from BAP to vac leak to the cam, any ideas? thanks guys.

probably has soemthing to do with the cam, your vaccum sounds about right for a cammed car - may be a good idea to change the fuel filter, etc and tune-up and hope that takes care of it

thanks for the input...unfortunately fuel filter, plugs, cap/rotor, and coil all new...so should I consider some sort of chip or something to compensate for the cam?

Mine does it as well, Also have the b303 cam.
I think nothing of it, doesn't bother me to much.

Maybe it has something to do with the FMS B cam when the car is cold?

yeah i think maybe you're right obsolete, b/c I have heard it from others too. Its not that it bothers me, i mean car runs fine after a min, but bein in NH its always cold in the morning. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the problem or if it was what i have heard, maybe i'm just a perfectionst. I figure it must have to do with the EFI and that cam.

but bein in NH its always cold in the morning.
You mean it's "nice" in the morning, and hot during the day, right?

Ob and I are in NH also, but I don't have a cam in mine so I can't help there. OB does though, so he knows more on that.

BTW, what part of NH you in?

haha, no cold in the morning, warm during the day. I live in durham, just a few minutes from NED, but I spend a lot of time in Merrimack/Nashua because i work there, parents live there, and most importantly, the stang lives at the rents house.
