which one is better?
Ford 5.0L/5.8L Performer Aluminum Cylinder Head [*]170cc Intake Ports[*]60cc Combustion Chambers[*]2.020' Int/1.600' Exh Valves[*]1.460' Valve Springs, .575' Max Lift

OR

Ford 5.0L/5.8L Performer Aluminum Cylinder Head [*]170cc Intake Ports[*]60cc Combustion Chambers[*]1.900' Int/1.600' Exh Valves[*]1.460' Valve Springs, .575' Max Lift

is $589 price of one head or 1 set of 2?

Neither...Eddy TW or AFR can be had for that price range all of which will outflow and out power the above heads. 302,306 motors benefit more from the smaller valve heads not to mention larger valve heads most often require notched pistons.

300 to the wheels will take more than ford alum heads and alpha cam..you'll need a much better head matched with a well chosed OTS cam or custom and a quality intake...oh and an excellent tune. 300 plus to the wheels is harder than most people realize with an n/a mild compression 302/306...it can be done but it's not just bolt and go.

if i went for trickflow twisted wedge do i need special headers for that cause right now i got a bbk unequal lenght shorty headers.

???? No only the GT40P heads require a 'special' style header. You should look at the tw kits, IMO an excellent kit that untuned reliably puts down great numbers. 300 is still a stretch but as I've seen you really cant feel the difference between 280's and 300's on the street, the kit is complete and cost effective IMO.
