Default 3.8 supercharger

i was wondering... would a supercharger off a stock 3.8 fit on a 5.0?? how much boost do you think would be safe to run on a stock 5.0 h.0. with 101k mi??

(meaning, its going to cost you a ton of money to get it to work, where you could drop $2200 and get a vortech or paxton)

haha thats what i was gunna say my boss has i think 5 of them floating around the shop at work and a whole engine

If I could get my hands on one, I could probably get a buddy of mine to help design a new upper intake manifold and pulley bracket to make one fit...

ive seen em on 5.0's with a smaller pulley for higher boost.

the top intake was chopped and welded to the 3.8 setup , one guy had two on an 87 gt, cant find the link[:@] running 10's

i know there was a guy on stangnet that was running one with it in the side of his alt/smog pump. i cant find the link... i've been looking for it for the last 3 days, if anyone can find it i would love to get it from you, it was a read 5.0 i believe with a black hood. thanks guys

oh and adder does your buddy already have it on his car? i would love to see pics, been looking into trying this supercharger set up now that my pops has a better welder.

Well, is it an Eaton M90 or M62 charger off of the 3.8? The M90 is from the Series II 3800, M62 from the Series I. I myself have a M62 under my bed and have asked the same question, but apparently they can't really push enough boost to make it worth the difference.

EDIT: ****...are we talking GM or Ford 3.8? No matter anyway...I think they both used an M90.

i would love to go vortech (lack of cash) but i also think it would be a fun project to retrofit an m90 on my mustang. im' sure i'll end up giving up and going with a novi or vortch but hey i atleast wanna research the m90
