302 or 351? is that even a question? The aluminum block will be alot lighter, but also alos more expesive, weaker, and more susceptale to heat. I would just go with a iron one. And yes the aftermarket for the W is huge compared to the C, but there are some parts for the C out there. 351W FTW!!

A properly designed Aluminum block should weigh about 2/3 that of a comparable cast iron block.
If designed properly, there would not be a strength difference.
And I would think aluminum would dissipate heat fairly well...

I haven't seen any aluminum blocks (302 or 351w)recently though...

frpp makes a bunch of different aluminum blocks. 302, 351, and 429. but they make a cast iron 302 block good for 1200 hp...but I can hear my bank laughing at me when i even think of that

well u must have seen somehtin wierd cause the cleve is a much bigger and better block. the cleve will hold well over 800 hp, and is a lot wider. the heads are a lot better and a high lift and duration cam will put u at 400 wheel with the 4v heads. then if u go aussie heads which are on ebay then u will c over 600 hp. its just a better motor. just a bit more expensive.

The new 'BOSS' block that ford is selling could be built as a 347 'Clevor' I think that would be the way to go now that a good block to build from is now for sale.
Only problem maybe an intake but I'll bet either there is something out there I don't know of or, that problem will be taken care of in a couple months.
What you would end up with is a BOSS 347..........

I failed to mention a couple of things about the 'BOSS 347'.
You will save about 60-90#'s off the front end of your car. FOX body V-8's are as much as 58% frontal wirght, you don't want to add any more.
Also, you will have a 4 bolt main block with an improved oiling system, something that no 351W ever had.........
