May not weigh less after the upgrades it takes for fox to keep up.

If everything was exactly the same [which isn't possible, FYI], the fox would win b/c it weighs a little less......but not by much.

What, aren't aluminum heads lighter than stock.

Imo you cant really compare prices here, they're totally different cars. Yes a 99 GT would cost more than a fox, but you're getting a much newer car that most likely has less miles, and you're getting a lot nicer, more comfortable interior along with it. Yes parts may be pricier but most people dont buy 99 GTs to make them drag cars. If you want a cheap car you can make fast for cheap, go for the fox. If I had to chose between a fox and a 99-04 I'd take the 4.6 all day.

the fox would win because of the weight difference....
stock for stock a 99+ 4.6 will beat a stock fox but how many foxes out there are still stock and with the money you would spend buying a stock 99 up stang you can have you a excellant condition fox thats quick enough to run off and leave a 4.6 with mods... but i love the look of the 99-up mustangs but dont like the cost of putting some of the simplest bolt ons on the car..It all really comes down to which car you like the most...
and it doesnt take much to have a fox outrunning a 99-04 gt..
