a couple questions ( glowing headrs,high idol)?
hey guys bought my first 5.0 its an 89 GT with a cobra 5.0 under the hood its also fed by a vortech supercharger now when i bought it, it needed a rebuild ( owner befor me had no clue) so i rebuilt it and had it throughn in.. now i start it and sht idols WAY TO HIGH like up at 1500 rpm but after a few seconds it came down to 500 or 600 so i take it ot a teh to get it timed proper and he times it prober ( to what a normal 5.0 should be ) and he times it and now its revin at 2000 and wont come down so while we r scratchin our heads the headers start ot glow ! not good can anyone give me some suggestions ... vacume leak,missed hoses or wires,bypass valve ???? fule regulator ?? and does the timeing change alot because of a charger ??? if anyone can help me out that would be great like i said first 5.0 and im also new ot the superchargers so haha thanks guys

That does'nt sound like your only problem though.Your tps could be part of it but your headers should not be glowing. Have them put a fuel guage on your car and read what it is set at. If your car does have the supercharger on it,the fuel pressure should be set higher than a non supercharged car should. You dont know if it has a good tune setup in the ecm right?Also does your car have an fmu(fuel management unit)?
What size are your injectors and what size feul pump do you have in it?

no its usually caused by igntion timing being too far retarded, make sure the timing is set with the spout connector unplugged and ensure that the balancer hasn't slipped.
