I have a 89 notch that I just got that needs some work, I really can't drive it untill tuesday. I let it sit for a day then the next nige the battery was almost dead and it almost did not start (it's like 5*f here now). I let it idel for about 5 min and shut it off. Now that was last night and tonight it was dead and even colder. I got my little wireless jumper and she fired right up fine. Cause?
Next the car slightly lifts from a stop almost like the tires in the rear are flat spoted or somthing and their is some noise coming from the pass. rear suspention when driving slowing and a little bumpy when driving at normal speed. Tonight I took it around the parking lot to liten more and it sound like the rear is loose or somthing. It's bad and the tiresfeel flat spoted. Can you guys help me out please?:shrug:

you got a weak altenator or a bad cell in the battery. if its the altenator you should be able to pull cable off of battery and if she still runs without any change its the battery. explain the rearend further like what sound is it making. is it poping,creeking,thumping,sqweeking or what

It's deff. poping and a bit of thumping comming from the pass. wheel-well.

I found a site called rock auto that sells stock parts for real cheap, I have the tightest budget one could have....Anyway I was planning getting parts from there or another site if I can find them for cheaper. It's not that I need to get it fixed soon but I need time to save money because I only work 2-3 days a week. I have a friend that was a auto mech. and he helped me fix my first car up like new. I had a 91 daytona that the timing belt broke, blew the clutch, all sorts of things.

I'm used to this stuff just not that great at finding out the problem and I can't get him to help untill it warms up morebecause it's like cloder than0*F....


The rear just feels like there some loose bolts because it shifts around a bit and is a bit bumpy, it might have blown struts?

you need to check the upper control arms where they tie into the torque boxes for damage. could also be a shock. if you go to the rear of the car and push down on it you should be able to hear it if its a shock. or have a friend do it while your under there to diagnose it if at all possible.

Just went and pushed on the drivers side and the shocl seems fine, the pass. side there is deff somthing wrong. You can feel that their is no damnping (sp*?) at all and it just went down a little and stopped felt bad..

You are a huge help and super fats!!!even though this may seem simple to some, you have to start somewhere..

$20 fix, I'll do the wire test tomorrow because it's too cold now..
