Carbed Fuel pressure for boost

RE: Carbed Fuel pressure for boost
From what I have read is that you are suppose to use the vent (used for an atmospheric pressure reference) on a Holley regulator. Suppose to take a hose and connect the vent to your intake before the carb so that it uses your intake pressure as a reference. But I have not seen a Holley regulator that has this vent. I wonder if it was an old school one that has faded away? If you could find some float needles that could take high pressures. You could run 10psi or so of boost on a 14psi pump. This was something I also wanted to do. Though have not had a chance yet.

I got curious and got to looking around. I found some regulators made by Magna Fuel that ramp the pressure to a 1:1 ratio, and adjust from 4-12psi. You can get "MagnaFuel Pressure Control Regulators" at Jegs. Most regulators that I see that are made to do that are for high pressure EFI systems. Think that is the only one I have seen more for carbs. But, 12psi isnt all that great. For high pressures, maby you could get an EFI one to work.

You need a rising rate pressure regulator. It uses engine vacume to increase fuel pressure as boost increases. Do not try and run a regular regulator in a boosted application, you will lean out the motor and damage it.
