Default FYI - Cold Starting

For anyone who is having a cold starting issue (rough idle/stalls when putting into gear), here might be a solution. My car was starting rough and would have to let it warm up before I could put it into gear and drive properly. All of the posts I read pointed to the IAC module. I took it off the throttle body and cleaned all of the carbon out. No change. Not wanting to buy a new one (cha-ching) I did some more research. I had changed the ECT sensor a few months back & read a new post about this being the issue, so I put in my old one which still worked & she idled no problem. The newer ECT I purchased was cheap plastic non-OEM sh*t. I saved money on not buying a new IAC, but should have bought a higher end sensor.

I hope this helps anyone cursing their pony right now.

Could be either of the 2 problems mentioned above.

The ect sensor is located in the pass side of the intake manifold in the metal tubes that run to the rear for the heater hoses. Look in the area where the #'s 1 and 2 injectors are. It's a 2 wire connector. It lets the ecm know the temp of the motor to control fuel ratio.
